বিজ্ঞপ্তিতে বলা হয়, ঈদের পর থেকে শুরু হওয়া চলমান তাপপ্রবাহের ফলে হিট স্ট্রোকের কারণে সারাদেশে প্রতিদিন প্রায় এক লাখ মুরগি মারা যাচ্ছে, যার আনুমানিক মূল্য ২০ কোটি টাকা। এই পরিস্থিতিতে, ডিম ও মুরগি উৎপাদন ৪ থেকে ১০ শতাংশ পর্যন্ত কমেছে। এ অবস্থা অব্যাহত থাকলে আগামী দিনে ব্রয়লার মুরগি ও ডিম সরবরাহে সংকট দেখা দিতে পারে।
বিজ্ঞপ্তিতে আরও বলা হয়, ঈদের পর গত ১০ থেকে ১২ দিনে সারাদেশে ১০ লাখর বেশি ব্রয়লার, লেয়ার ও সোনালি মুরগি মারা গেছে। এর মধ্যে ৮০ শতাংশ ব্রয়লার, ১০ থেকে ১৫ শতাংশ ছিল লেয়ার মুরগি ও সোনালীসহ অনন্যা ৫ শতাংশ মুরগি মারা গেছে। এ অবস্থা আরও কয়েকদিন চলতে থাকলে ক্ষতির পরিমাণ দাঁড়াবে ২০০ কোটি টাকা। এতে খামারগুলো বন্ধ হয়ে যাবে, ডিম ও মুরগির উৎপাদন কমে আসবে। এ সুযোগ কাজে লাগিয়ে কর্পোরেট ডিম মুরগি সরবরাহকারী ও তেজগাঁও ডিম সিন্ডিকেট কৃত্রিম সংকট তৈরি করবে। জুন থেকে তারা দাম বাড়তে শুরু করবে। আগস্ট থেকে অক্টোবর পর্যন্ত ডিম ও মুরগির দাম মারাত্মকভাবে বাড়বে। এ অবস্থা থেকে উত্তরণে সরকারের উচিত পোল্ট্রি খামারিদের রক্ষা করা।

According to the notification, as a result of the ongoing heat wave that started after Eid, around one lakh chickens are dying every day due to heat stroke across the country, which is worth an estimated Tk 20 crore. Under these conditions, egg and chicken production decreased by 4 to 10 percent. If this situation continues, there may be a crisis in the supply of broiler chickens and eggs in the coming days.
The notification also said that more than 1 million broiler, layer and golden chickens died in the last 10 to 12 days after Eid. Of these, 80 percent were broilers, 10 to 15 percent were layer chickens and 5 percent Ananya chickens, including golden ones, died. If this situation continues for a few more days, the loss will be Tk 200 crores. The farms will be closed, the production of eggs and chickens will decrease. Using this opportunity, corporate egg chicken suppliers and Tejgaon Egg Syndicate will create an artificial crisis. From June they will start increasing the prices. From August to October the price of eggs and chicken will increase drastically. The government should protect the poultry farmers in transition from this situation.
