'ঢাকায় জোড় তারিখে জোড়, বিজোড় তারিখে বিজোড় সংখ্যার গাড়ি' চলবে।'ট্রাফিক ব্যবস্থা সিটি করপোরেশনকে দিলে গাড়ির নম্বর প্লেটের নম্বরটি জোড় না বিজোড়, সেই ভিত্তিতে রাজধানীর রাস্তায় গাড়ি নামাবেন গাড়ির মালিকরা। নম্বর প্লেটে যাঁদের জোড় সংখ্যা রয়েছে তাঁরা জোড় তারিখের দিনে গাড়ি চালাতে পারবেন। পরের দিন চলবে বিজোড় সংখ্যার গাড়ি।'
আজ শনিবার সকালে রাজধানীর উত্তরা সেক্টর-৭-এর রবীন্দ্র সরণির পশ্চিমের শেষ প্রান্ত বটমূলে 'বঙ্গবন্ধু মুক্তমঞ্চ'-এর উদ্বোধন অনুষ্ঠানে তিনি এসব কথা বলেন।
এ সময় মেয়র আরো বলেন, রাজধানীর কোন রাস্তায় কী পরিমাণ গাড়ি চলাচল করে, কোন কোন রাস্তায় বেশি যানজট এসব বিষয়ে গবেষণা করে কার্যকর ট্রাফিক ব্যবস্থা গ্রহণ করতে হবে।
অনুষ্ঠানে ঢাকা উত্তর সিটি করপোরেশনের (ডিএনসিসি) মেয়র মো. আতিকুল ইসলাম প্রধান অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন।
